This conference will demonstrate:

  • How to review primary history curriculum maps with examples of medium-term plans and activities that incorporate black and diverse histories into mainstream teaching in line with National Curriculum requirements and OFSTED expectations to teach in greater depth
  • Share a case study of “decolonising“ both the history and wider primary curriculum from a London school where this process contributed to an OFSTED `Outstanding` award this year
  • Consider examples of diverse local history which can be incorporated into the primary history curriculum
  • Look at the significance of women in the RAF during WWII and The Battle of Britain
