For ECT’s and developing teachers: Growing an understanding of the underlying influences on pupil behaviour and how to promote behaviour for learning. This course will provide practical strategies to support meeting needs and positive learning behaviours.

- An overview of why some children struggle to manage their behaviour.
- Exploration re: different types of needs including a focused look at Social, Emotional and Mental Health.
- Planning for positive behaviour and effective classroom management
- Approaches to managing challenging behaviours.
About Sue Byron:
Sue has over 35 years of educational experience. She began her career as a primary school teacher and SENCo in London before moving on to found the Parent Partnership Scheme in Bromley. Sue returned to teaching as Teacher-in-Charge of a KS3/4 Assessment Unit and then Deputy Head Teacher of a KS4 PRU. From here she went on to lead the Bromley Primary Behaviour Service. Sue then created and led the Behaviour Outreach Service for the Spring Partnership Trust. She has provided support to schools, children, families, local authorities and MATs. Sue has strong communication skills and has formed many professional partnerships. She is solution focused and believes in the power of effective, trusting collaboration. Sue is skilled in facilitating schools to meet Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs and has strong SEND knowledge and understanding.
