Course Overview:
This termly forum is designed to ensure that subject leaders and teachers across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 are kept informed of the latest initiatives and understand best practice. Each session will include a training focus as well as an open forum for discussion.

Course Content:

  • An update of key publications, research and guidance from the DfE and OFSTED.
  • Discussions around the role of the subject leader in the management of PE.
  • Exploration into statutory assessment at the end of EYFS, KS1 and KS2.
  • Innovative ideas to take back to school to support staff CPD.
  • A chance to and share best practice in the teaching and leading of PE.

About Andrew Flynn:
Andrew Flynn is a Physical Education specialist, with 26 years teaching experience, in mainstream Primary and University and is currently Senior Lecturer in Primary Education and is a specialist in Physical Education and Development at the University of Greenwich. After completing his BEd In physical education, he completed an MRes and MA which focused on Physical Education in Primary Education. Andrew works with BA Primary QTS and PGCE students and and is passionate about the learning that can be achieved through this subject. During his career he has delivered CPD as part of Greenwich teacher training as well as working with education settings on specific training needs of staff.
