Course Overview:
For strategic school leaders to assist them in developing schools’ holistic and tiered approach. From meeting needs in the classroom and the playground through to intervention and support from external agencies for individual pupils this programme will help leaders to strategically reflect on how to meet SEMH needs within their school.

- Focus on the universal offer and ensuring quality first teaching is in place
- How to support all staff, both teaching and support, to identify SEMH needs and take early steps to meet it.
- Exploration of effective SEMH assessments
- Review of possible interventions
About Sue Byron:
Sue has over 35 years of educational experience. She began her career as a primary school teacher and SENCo in London before moving on to found the Parent Partnership Scheme in Bromley. Sue returned to teaching as Teacher-in-Charge of a KS3/4 Assessment Unit and then Deputy Head Teacher of a KS4 PRU. From here she went on to lead the Bromley Primary Behaviour Service. Sue then created and led the Behaviour Outreach Service for the Spring Partnership Trust. She has provided support to schools, children, families, local authorities and MATs. Sue has strong communication skills and has formed many professional partnerships. She is solution focused and believes in the power of effective, trusting collaboration. Sue is skilled in facilitating schools to meet Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs and has strong SEND knowledge and understanding.
