Working with Families – A Supportive Partnership
null

For ECT’s and more experienced staff across the primary age range. This half day course will provide a sound introduction into understanding ways of building successful partnership working with families. The experience of parenting can be confusing and filled with anxiety as family life and expectations become ever more complex. Supporting families in understanding their children’s development, learning and social experiences is key to this partnership. Many families can be unaware of the range of adaptations and interventions schools develop to support children as part of QFT. Creating positive communication, clear and consistent protocols and sharing practice with families achieve the best outcomes for their children.

  • What does family/school partnership look like in your school?
  • What can get in the way of positive home/school partnership?
  • How to engage families with sensitive situations?
  • How can you support families in accessing services and through diagnosis?
  • How can you share approaches from school to support the child at home?
