Course Overview:
This half day course will provide a sound understanding of emotional needs. As highlighted by recent NICE guidance on mental health and wellbeing and Public Health/DFE guidance, behaviour invariably has an unmet emotional need at its heart. In this course we will look at emotional needs and what we should be looking for and the approaches we can use to support children’s emotional awareness, communication and self-regulation skills. All of these aspects will be seen through exploring the Zones of Regulation and looking at how the Zones can be developed in your classroom and across the whole school as well as with families at home for a holistic approach.
